The New Richmond High School Troubadours choir competed and took some top honors at the Heritage Festival held in Chicago last month.

Under the direction of choir director Doug Heflin, the Troubadours performed March 15 at the Northside College Preparatory High School on the north side of Chicago.

After their performance, adjudicator Shelley Waite held a 20-minute clinic with the choir, successfully conducting them in the finer points of choral singing.

An hour later, after the Troubadour Men’s and Women’s choirs performed, adjudicator Dr. Robert Harris joined them onstage for a fun clinic.

Heflin said that both choirs competed for top honors of first, second, and third place, and a rating based on scoring, either gold, silver, or bronze.
