A bowling benefit for kids living with autism will be held later this month in memory of former West Clermont speech pathologist Katie Haumesser.

Haumesser, 27, was killed by a drunk driver in Clermont County in Feb. 2006 on the way home from taking her 10-year-old daughter Emma to Children’s Hospital after treatment for an asthma attack.

Emma Haumesser, who was seriously injured in the accident that occurred on I-275, recovered.

The April 26 benefit, named the Katie Haumesser Celebration of Life, will raise needed funds for children who are being treated for autism at the Kelly O’Leary Center at the Children’s Hospital.
