Clermont County Duke Energy customers experienced an electrical power outage for a couple of hours on Sunday night.

From 10 p.m. to around midnight Easter Sunday, 6,800 residents in Pt. Pleasant, Felicity, New Richmond, Moscow, Pierce Township, and Ohio Township were left in the dark when a cross arm near the Moscow substation broke.

“The outage went quite a distance through southern portions of the county,” said Duke Energy spokesperson Kathy Meinke.

The broken cross arm was found and identified on a walking tour of the power lines during the daylight hours on Monday; repairs were made and full service was restored Monday afternoon.
