East Fork State Park has received a grant to make improvements and upgrades to its William J. Harsha Lake facilities.

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Watercraft is funding the $560,000 improvements project through its Cooperative Boating Facilities grant program.

“Boaters who use the launch ramps will see improvements and upgrades to many facilities this Spring,” said East Fork State Park assistant manager John Gillespie. “We have been anticipating this project for many years now, and we are very excited that the improvements project is starting in February.”

East Fork applied for the grant three years ago after receiving many requests from people, especially boaters, who use the park for recreational purposes.

Chris Dauner, East Fork and Stonelick Park Regional Park Manager, recognizing the need for the improvements, said that he and the rest of the management and staff are extremely thrilled that the improvements will materialize this year.
