Citizens trying to call various Clermont County offices today may experience some difficulties. Overnight, a ½ inch water line break flooded 15,000 square feet of office space in the Medical Social Services Building, located at 2400 Clermont Center Drive in Batavia.

The building houses the Clermont County Department of Job and Family Services, the Clermont County Educational Services Center, and the Nursing and WIC divisions of the Clermont County General Health District. Offices of the Nursing and WIC divisions are closed today.

Crews are working on site to repair the damage, but it has forced the temporary relocation of the Clermont County Educational Services Center and the Nursing and WIC divisions of the Clermont County General Health District to offices elsewhere in the building.

Emergency phone numbers have been set up:

Those reporting Class A-1 communicable diseases should call 732-2231.

All other Clermont General Health District calls should be directed to 218-7377.

To report child abuse or neglect to Children’s Protective Services call 9-1-1.
