Alex Martin, Glen Este football star, has signed a collegiate letter-of-intent to continue his education and gridiron career at Marysville (Tenn.) College.

“I wanted to go to a small school in the Smoky Mountains and I like Tennessee,” said Martin of the reasons for choosing Maryville.

He plans to major in the field of business.

Martin played four years of football at Glen Este earning three varsity letters and he earned a letter the only season he played varsity tennis. He also played basketball two years.

On the gridiron he was a Fort Ancient Valley Conference (FAVC) Buckeye Division all-star and made all-city and Division I all-district. From his school he earned the prestigious Guts and Glory Award and was a scholar-athlete. In addition to his sports involvement he served as an office assistant.
