The Clermont County chapter of Tri-State Habitat For Humanity celebrated the start of its 32nd Clermont habitat house with a wall-raising ceremony March 24.

The new home, located at 309 Union Street in New Richmond, is a direct result of a collaboration between the Tri-State Habitat For Humanity Clermont and Thrivent Financial For Lutherans.

Under the name Thrivent Builds with Habitat For humanity, the organizations combined their forces this year to build the new two-story home for the Higgins family.

“Thrivent Builds is a four-year program designed to help provide a hand-up to people who lack decent shelter,” said Thrivent-Habitat project leader Gated Moss during the ceremony. “It is a powerful example of both organizations working together in an unprecedented alliance to build homes and help families achieve greater economic independence.”
