The FBI announced Dec. 7 in Clermont County that a multi-jurisdictional investigation had netted what was believed to be 11 drug dealers or suppliers that had been operating a large marijuana ring in the southern Ohio region.

While many of the specifics of the case remained under wraps due to federal regulations, the FBI provided some detail to the basics of the case against the men that they say were transporting drugs into the region by the ton.

“This was a multi-agency effort,” said FBI special agent Tim Murphy. “On behalf of the FBI, I want to thank all of these individuals and all of the agencies that played a role in the investigation. Terrorism is not the only threat to the safety of the American people. Drug traffickers will continue to be targeted. Post 911, law enforcement has learned to work leaner and more efficient investigations. We’ve also learned to use law enforcement partners as a force multiplier. This operation is a perfect example of that cooperation. The disruption of this drug operation could not have been accomplished without the task force concept.”
