Mike Moore has recently been named as the 2006 Ohio High School Athletic Association Trainer of the Year. Moore is the trainer at Lakota East High School.

The Ohio Athletic Trainers Association (OATA), which is the governing body for all athletic trainers in the state of Ohio, awards this prestigious honor annually.

Moore is the current president of the Greater Cincinnati Trainers Association and has been the head trainer at Lakota East since the school began in 1997.

He is concluding his 26th year as the head athletic trainer at the former Lakota High School and at Lakota East. He has been a member of the faculty in the Lakota School District since 1975 and has taught a variety of classes that have included biology, anatomy, physiology, health, astronomy, physical science, drivers education, and he is currently teaching sport sciences. He has coached football and wrestling during his career with the Thunderbirds.
