Current and former Clermont County residents can check the June 22 edition of The Clermont Sun to find out if they are entitled to a portion of the more than $886,658 in unclaimed funds turned over to the Division of Unclaimed Funds in the past year. Director of Commerce Doug White has urged residents to participate in the 2006 treasure hunt for unclaimed funds.

Unclaimed fund are monies or the rights to monies that have been dormant or forgotten. Some common examples include dormant checking and savings accounts, forgotten rent and utility deposits, uncashed checks, undelivered stock certificates, uncashed insurance policies and forgotten layaway deposits.
