New Richmond resident Juanita Grizzle, 70, was found dead June 8 after a fire tore through her Front Street home.

According to New Richmond Fire and EMS Chief Mark Baird, neighbor John Adams was the man who called 911 when he saw that flames were shooting from the windows and smoke was coming out off the eaves.

Chief Baird said that Adams tried to enter the house but was unable to because of the smoke and fire. He said that Adams was unaware of anyone in the home at the time of his attempted entry.

Fifteen minutes after firefighters arrived on the scene, the fire was brought under control and Grizzle was found dead on her sofa.
