The Miami Township Police Department has also announced that three of its officers recently graduated from the Northwestern University Center for Public Safety School of Police Staff and Command. The officers, Melissa Wahlert, Todd Peters and Sergeant Al Fatute, all graduated on March 23 from the Evanston, Ill. campus.

Considered to be one of the most successful police training schools for officers of their level, the 10-week program is designed to prepare them for senior-level positions within the department.

Wahlert has been a member of the force since 2002. Peters joined the force in 1999 and Fatute has been with the department since 1993.
