The West Clermont Local School District will be holding two public work sessions to discuss the possibility of placing a 2.7 mill bond issue back on the ballot for the May 2 election. The sessions will be held Thursday, Jan. 19 and Monday, Jan. 23. Both sessions will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the Union Township Civic Center.

The bond issue, which garnered only 47 percent of the vote in the general election in November, would have replaced Amelia, Brantner, Summerside, and Withamsville-Tobasco elementary schools. It would also have built new athletic complexes at the Amelia and Glen Este high school campuses.

West Clermont Board of Education president Jo Ann Beamer said that the sessions are being held because the board wants to hear from the public. She said that in order to make an informed decision, the board needs to know how the community feels the district should proceed.
