It was about 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, 1967, cold and snowing and quickly approaching dusk, when the last people were leaving the Felicity High School football field. The Cardinals had been defeated 32-8 by Williamsburg, Clermont County League (CCL) champion of the 1967-68 school year.

Some people had heard a rumor or sensed in the atmosphere that this would be the last game in Felicity football history. That rumor had brought several of my friends and myself from Amelia to watch the last game along with high school football fans from all over Clermont County who wanted to be an eye witness to county history.

The summer of 2005 has seen action being taken to return the Cardinals to the gridiron. There are mixed and divided opinions and I don
